To celebrate 15 years of PELMA we invited audience members, collaborators and friends to a two-day event which took place at Theatro Polis on December 7th and 8th 2019.
We hosted artists who have contributed with their energy to the work in the past, to present their own experience in collaborating with the company in any form they chose.
It was a program filled with memories, shared experiences and unforgettable collaborations and of course a long durational party!

How do performance works exist in the memory of the audience that had witnessed them ?

This was the initial question which triggered our creative process in making a work developed from our archive while treating the spectators bodie’s as living archives of an ephemeral artform.

During ‘The Bodies We Swore’ we invited the audience to spend an evening with us visiting past works, songs, and characters from our twenty year creative journey. The choice of the pieces was determined from what the audience members remembered though a game guided by the performers.

The piece was a part of the Rialto’s Associate Artist Scheme and is supported by the Deputy Ministry of Culture 2023.
