Art Your Service
The concept for the Kypria opening was based on the “The Performance Shop Concept” by Lia Haraki, where live art becomes an essential part of everydayness. Artists presented their work in the streets of the old City of Nicosia, inside the windows of shops, through alleys and squares. The event was experienced by hundreds of people and was a reminder of how art through its multiple forms and genres is a practise of being humans TOGETHER.

The OPAP City Theater aspires to develop bridges of creative dialogue between visual and theatrical expression, thus creating another artistic and creative core, in the city within the walls, a few metres from the Green Line. The project will give a platform for artistic expression to young theatre and visual arts professionals and at the same time promote experimental and pedagogical practices in the field of theatre, visual arts and performance.

Islanding
Islanding was a commissioned piece created for the Inauguration Ceremony of the new Larnaca International Airport.
We consider the new airport to be one of the most significant buildings of Cyprus’ contemporary era, as much for its purpose as for its progressive architectural structure. The piece took the audience on a journey from the past to the present of Cyprus civilisation and culture, with the new airport representing a starting point for future journeys.
Through contemporary dance, music and multimedia, the audience navigated through history, culture, tradition, nature and love, focusing on the island’s magical energy and unique identity. The eight dancers on stage, thirty volunteers, offered the audience Cypriot goods aiming to stimulate their sense of taste, smell and touch, while the music and live performance enraptured them through sight and sound.
*ISLANDING was presented as part of the opening of the new ‘Larnaca International Airport’ and the performance was shown in a live transmission at the CYBC Channel
